Trump Vows Response After Iran Downs US Apache Helicopter Over Strait of Hormuz

Baghdad: US President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that Iran had shot down a highly advanced US Apache helicopter while it was patrolling the Strait of Hormuz, confirming that a response to the incident is forthcoming. 'I have just been informed by our military that last night the Iranians shot down one of our Apache helicopters while it was patrolling the Strait of Hormuz,' Trump said in a post on his Truth Social platform.

According to Iraqi News Agency, Trump emphasized that the United States would respond to Iran's actions, describing the downing of the helicopter as an attack. He assured the public that the two pilots aboard the helicopter survived the incident and were not injured.

Trump's statement comes amid heightened tensions in the region, with the Strait of Hormuz being a strategic waterway for global oil shipments. The US military has been actively patrolling the area to ensure the safety of international shipping lanes.

The incident marks a significant escalation in hostilities between the US and Iran, raising concerns over potential military confrontation. The international community is closely monitoring the situation as further developments unfold.
