Washington: US President Donald Trump reiterated that there are currently no sea mines in the Strait of Hormuz, praising the role of US forces there, saying, “We are doing a very big job.” In a press statement, Trump said, “A large number of ships are currently transiting the waterway safely, and huge quantities of oil are on their way out through the strait.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump downplayed the military standoff, which has entered its seventh month, describing the months-long conflict with Tehran as “very simple for the United States.” Trump publicly threatened to escalate military strikes against Iran, stating that US forces might soon target the “Axe Head” mountain (also known as Kalang Ghazla Mountain), a fortified mountain site near the Natanz nuclear facility.

He asserted that the United States had destroyed advanced Iranian radars for the second time, vowing even stronger strikes if the situation worsened. He noted that Washington had not lost any troops in its previous oper
ations in Venezuela, but had lost 18 (or 19, according to some reports) in the current conflict with Iran. These statements coincide with heightened tensions on the ground and intermittent exchanges of missile and air strikes around the Strait of Hormuz between US and Iranian forces.
