Washington: US President Donald Trump issued a warning to Venezuelan Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, who assumed the role of acting president after a Supreme Court order was issued in the wake of Washington’s detention of President Nicolas Maduro. Trump cautioned Rodriguez, stating she could face greater repercussions than those confronted by Maduro if she fails to make the decisions favored by the US.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Trump made these remarks in a press statement on Sunday, emphasizing the potential consequences for Rodriguez. He stated, “Rodriguez may pay a much higher price than Maduro if she doesn’t make the right decisions,” indicating the seriousness with which the US administration views the current situation in Venezuela.

Trump further indicated the broader implications of the situation, suggesting that Venezuela might not be the last country to experience US intervention. He previously mentioned on Saturday that the US would refrain from deploying troops to Venezuela provided Rodriguez complies with Washington’s expectations.
