Washington: US Vice President Jay D. Vance said that Iran is still not ready to acknowledge some of the “red lines” set by President Donald Trump. His remarks came on Tuesday, hours after a second round of talks between the two countries in Geneva.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Vance indicated that the United States remains committed to the diplomatic track, despite Trump’s threat to use force against Iran if it does not meet Washington’s demands, particularly those related to its nuclear program.

Vance stated, “In some aspects, things went well; they agreed to meet again later. But in other aspects, it is clear that the president has set some red lines that the Iranians are still not ready to accept and address.”

He added, “We will continue to work on this. But of course, the president has the authority to determine when diplomacy will reach its conclusion.”

He continued: “We hope we don’t reach that point, but if it does, the decision will be the president’s,” referring to the option of military action.
