Kuwait city: Turkey and Kuwait signed four agreements on Tuesday, witnessed by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah. The signing marked an important development in the bilateral relations between the two nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the agreements were formalized during President Erdogan’s official visit to Kuwait, which is part of a broader Gulf tour that will also see him visiting Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman. The agreements cover maritime transport, energy, direct investment, and mutual recognition of seafarers’ certificates, reflecting a commitment to enhancing cooperation in these critical sectors.

The signing ceremony took place following in-depth bilateral and delegation-level talks at Al-Bayan Palace. As a gesture of goodwill, President Erdogan presented the Emir of Kuwait with a Turkish electric car, TOG, symbolizing Turkey’s focus on technological advancement and environmental sustainability.

Earlier in the day, President Erdogan arrived in Kuwait and was received at Kuwait International Airport by the Emir, Sheikh Meshaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in an official ceremony. The Turkish President’s visit is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen ties with Gulf countries, underscored by a high-profile delegation accompanying him, including Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and other key ministers and officials from Turkey.

This visit and the accompanying agreements underscore the importance of Turkey-Kuwait relations and the broader strategic interests shared by the two nations.
