Turkey Pledges Continued Efforts Against Alleged Genocide in Netanyahu’s Government

ANKARA: Turkey has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that those responsible for alleged genocide against Palestinians by the Israeli government, led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, are held accountable. The Turkish Foreign Ministry has expressed its determination to pursue justice for the Palestinian people in statements released on social media. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry shared images depicting the purported actions and massacres committed by Israel against Palestinians. This move was a direct response to comments made by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz against Turkey. The ministry accused Netanyahu and Katz of having "hands stained with the blood of innocent Palestinians," and vowed to continue efforts to bring those responsible to justice. The situation in Gaza has been dire since October 7, 2023, with reports of over 142,000 Palestinians dead or wounded, and more than 10,000 missing. The destruction and famine have reportedly claimed the lives o f many children and elderly individuals. Despite repeated calls from the United Nations Security Council and directives from the International Court of Justice to halt the violence and address the humanitarian crisis, Israel, with backing from the United States, has continued its military operations in Gaza. Tensions remain high as Turkey calls for international intervention to address what it describes as ongoing genocide, underscoring the complex geopolitical dynamics at play in the region.
