Ankara: The Turkish Foreign Ministry has expressed its approval of the newly announced roadmap devised by Syria, Jordan, and the United States, aimed at resolving the ongoing issues in Sweida Governorate, located in southern Syria. The ministry conveyed its support through an official statement, underscoring the importance of maintaining calm and establishing stability in the region to prevent future conflicts.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Turkish Foreign Ministry emphasized its commitment to supporting initiatives that aim to ensure peace, security, and stability for all components of the Syrian population. This commitment is rooted in Turkey's principles of respecting Syria's territorial integrity, unity, and sovereignty.

The roadmap was unveiled by Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Sheibani, who detailed a seven-step plan during a press conference in Damascus. He was joined by Jordanian Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and US Special Envoy to Syria, Thomas Barrack. This announcement followed the third collaborative meeting between the three nations since July.

The urgency of the roadmap is highlighted by the recent history of Sweida, which experienced a week of violent clashes between Druze groups and Bedouin tribes last July, resulting in significant casualties. A ceasefire was successfully initiated on July 19, bringing temporary relief to the region's conflict-stricken communities.
