Turkey’s Kizilma Combat Drone Passes Afterburner Maneuvering Test

Istanbul: Turkey announced the success of its domestically developed combat drone, "Bayraktar Kizilma," in its afterburner maneuvering system identification test. The Turkish company Baykar, which manufactures the Kizilma drone, stated in a statement that the tests of the domestically developed combat drone are continuing according to the planned schedule and that it successfully passed the afterburner maneuvering system identification test, which took place on Friday.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, it is worth noting that the Kizilma is the first Turkish combat drone developed domestically. It successfully completed its first flight in 2022 in preparation for operational missions. It also successfully completed a medium-altitude flight identification system test.

The combat drone weighs 6 tons at takeoff and can carry a maximum payload of 1,500 kilograms. It is designed to use locally developed munitions. According to the manufacturer, the Bayraktar Kizilma is a revolutionary combat drone on the battlefield thanks to its ability to land and take off from ships with short runways.
