Erbil: Turkish Consul General in Erbil, Erman Topcu, announced that Turkish companies have implemented projects worth $35 billion across Iraq to date.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Topcu made this announcement during a meeting between a Turkish trade delegation and Iraqi businessmen in the Erbil Governorate. He highlighted that the Turkish private sector has been a significant contributor to the development of both Iraq and the Kurdistan Region in northern Iraq for over four decades.
Topcu emphasized that these activities have strengthened relations between Turkey and Iraq, noting that Turkish exports to Iraq in 2024 surpassed $13 billion, with the overall trade exchange reaching $18 billion. He further elaborated that Turkish businessmen, particularly in the Kurdistan Region and Erbil, have been instrumental in these achievements.
He stated that throughout Iraq, Turkish companies have implemented projects worth $35 billion. This figure positions Iraq as the third-largest recipient of Turkish investments globally and the largest in the Middle East.
