Basra: The Consul General of the Republic of Turkey in Basra, Mehmet Ozkon, visited the Basra and Arabian Gulf Studies Center at the University of Basra. He was received by the Center’s Director, Dr. Ammar Jamil Abbas, and a number of researchers.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, during the meeting, ways to enhance scientific and cultural cooperation between the Center and Turkish academic institutions were discussed, particularly in the fields of historical and political studies of mutual interest.
The Consul praised the Center’s research role in serving regional issues, stressing the Consulate’s readiness to support academic exchange initiatives and organize joint events.
For his part, the Center’s Director welcomed the visit, expressing his aspiration to expand international partnerships to serve the Center’s academic goals.
