Turkish Defense Ministry Confirms Readiness to Participate in the “Task Force” in Peacekeeping Operations in the Gaza Strip

Ankara: The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed on Friday that it is ready to carry out any mission assigned to it by the Task Force in the Gaza Strip, noting that it has extensive experience in peacekeeping operations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, sources in the Turkish Ministry of Defense stated in a media release that “the armed forces are ready to carry out any mission officially assigned to them” and that they “have participated in dozens of international missions within multinational forces to establish security and peace in various regions around the world.”

The release stated: “The Turkish Army’s long experience in peacekeeping operations has earned it a high professional reputation and respect from all parties,” stressing that the Turkish Army is distinguished by its professionalism, discipline, and balance in its field stance, and enjoys widespread international appreciation.

They pointed out that Turkey views establishing peace in Gaza as a humanitarian and regional priority, in line with the Turkish leadership’s repeated calls to halt the aggression and lift the blockade. She explained that “Turkey’s previous experiences in the Balkans, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Lebanon demonstrate its readiness to contribute effectively to efforts to establish regional and international peace.”

The Turkish Ministry of Defense emphasized the need to deliver humanitarian aid immediately to Gaza, given the grave humanitarian suffering it has endured for two years, along with the immediate commencement of reconstruction efforts. She expressed hope that the ceasefire would contribute to establishing a just and lasting peace and ultimately to a two-state solution.
