Baghdad: Economic expert, Manar Al-Obaidi, reported on Thursday that Turkish exports to Iraq witnessed a significant decline during June 2025, with the value of exports reaching only $626 million, a 37% decrease compared to May 2025, when exports reached $991 million, and a 14% decrease compared to June 2024, which recorded $727 million.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Obaidi indicated in a statement that the decline included most Turkish goods exported to Iraq, with the largest declines recorded in electrical and mechanical appliances, furniture, fruits, and vegetables, reflecting the impact of the new regulatory measures on trade activity.

He explained that this decrease is attributed to measures taken in early June 2025, which included tightening controls at border crossings and the implementation of the “Skoda” system to regulate the entry of goods.

He indicated that the value of Turkish exports to Iraq during the first half of 2025 amounted to $4.9 billion, a 9% decrease compared to the sa
me period in 2024, when exports amounted to $5.4 billion.
