Trabzon: Fishermen in the Black Sea off the coast of Trabzon found a drone boat believed to belong to the Ukrainian military. The boat was equipped with approximately 300 kg of explosives and was intended for launching suicide attacks against Russian naval vessels.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, Turkish media reports today stated that the boat was towed by fishermen to the port of Yuruz in the €¡arsibasi district of Trabzon province, northern Turkey. The fishermen initially mistook it for a small fishing boat that had been washed ashore following a rainstorm and strong winds. However, once it was lifted by a sea crane, they discovered it was a military drone.
Fishermen reported detecting an object 800 meters away via radar during the storm, which later turned out to be a military boat. The Coast Guard teams were immediately notified, and they received the boat upon its return to port.
The Trabzon Governorate announced the precautionary closure of the port and confirmed that the necessary security measures had been taken. Teams from the Special Naval Forces (SAS), along with specialized security units, were deployed to handle the situation.
