Istanbul: The Turkish Intelligence Organization announced on Friday the arrest of a lawyer, Tugrul Han Dib, in Istanbul on charges of providing information to investigators working for the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad. This marks the second such arrest announced today as part of Turkey's ongoing counter-espionage operations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrest was conducted in coordination with the Public Prosecutor's Office and the Counter-Terrorism Department of the Istanbul Security Directorate. It was revealed that Dib had been assisting Serkan Cicek, a Mossad operative who was also detained earlier today in a separate operation.

Investigations found that Dib not only collaborated with Cicek but also worked with several other investigators linked to Mossad, including Musa Koc, who had previously been sentenced to 19 years in prison for spying on behalf of Israel. Dib is accused of supplying personal data obtained from public records in exchange for financial gain and creating an illegal query system through which he sold this information to the investigators.

The intelligence agency reported that the information provided by Dib was subsequently forwarded to Mossad and used in espionage activities.

Earlier on Friday, Turkish intelligence carried out an operation code-named 'Metron', leading to the arrest of Serkan Cicek. According to intelligence findings, Cicek had connections to Faisal Rashid, a member of the Israeli Center for Online Operations, and had agreed to perform espionage tasks targeting a Palestinian activist opposed to Israeli policies in the Middle East in return for payment.
