Istanbul: The Turkish Intelligence Service (MIT) has successfully apprehended a suspect identified as a collaborator with the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, in an operation codenamed "Metron." The arrest was made after conclusive evidence of the suspect's collaboration with Mossad was established.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the individual, Serkan ‚¬Å¡¬¡i§ek, was arrested in a collaborative operation conducted by the Turkish National Intelligence Service (MIT), the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, and the Istanbul Regional Police Counterterrorism Branch. Intelligence sources disclosed that ‚¬Å¡¬¡i§ek had connections with Faisal Rashid, a member of the Israeli Cyber Operations Center. During interrogation, ‚¬Å¡¬¡i§ek confessed to having spied on a Palestinian activist who opposes Israeli policies in the Middle East.

Further investigations revealed that ‚¬Å¡¬¡i§ek's real identity is Mehmet Fatih Kili§, who changed his name after accumulating significant debts during his professional career. He left his previous job as an investigator in 2020 to establish the Pandora Investigation Agency. During this period, he became acquainted with Musa Ko§ and lawyer Tugrulhan Depe, both of whom were arrested on espionage charges in Israel. They reportedly assisted investigators in obtaining personal data from public records in exchange for financial compensation.

As an investigator, ‚¬Å¡¬¡i§ek collaborated with both Musa Ko§, who is currently detained, and lawyer Tugrulhan Depe. The attention of Mossad agents was drawn to ‚¬Å¡¬¡i§ek, and on July 31, 2025, Mossad member Faisal Rashid contacted him via WhatsApp, posing as an employee of a law firm based abroad.

Faisal Rashid commissioned ‚¬Å¡¬¡i§ek for a four-day surveillance mission targeting a Palestinian activist residing in Basaksehir, Istanbul, who was known for opposing Israeli policies. Rashid compensated ‚¬Å¡¬¡i§ek with $4,000 in cryptocurrency on August 1, 2025, for this mission.

Despite his efforts, which included covert field surveillance under the guise of seeking an apartment to rent, ‚¬Å¡¬¡i§ek failed to collect the necessary information. Consequently, Mossad severed its connection with him.
