Ankara: Turkish intelligence has announced the arrest of Muhammad Dib Korali, one of the individuals involved in a terrorist attack that claimed the lives of 53 people in Hatay province, southeast Turkey, in 2013.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Turkish intelligence revealed in a media circular today that its observatories in Syria had located the hiding place of Korali, who played a role in planning and executing the attack in Hatay province. The attack also resulted in dozens of injuries. Korali has been handed over to the Hatay provincial police command following his capture in Syria, and he is set to face the judiciary.

In a related development, Turkish intelligence previously arrested another accused individual, Youssef Nazik, in September 2018. Nazik, also implicated in the planning and execution of the bombing, was apprehended in a special operation in the Syrian city of Latakia.

The tragic event in question occurred on May 11, 2013, when two bombings devastated the Reyhanli district of Hatay province. These attacks led to the deaths of 53 people and left numerous others injured.
