Damascus: Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin held talks with Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa and a number of senior Syrian officials. Turkish media sources reported on Tuesday that Kalin met in Damascus alongside al-Sharaa, Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani, and Syrian Intelligence Chief Hussein al-Salama. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting included discussions on bilateral relations between Turkey and Syria, emphasizing the importance of Syria's territorial integrity, sovereignty, and political stability. During the meeting, Kalin emphasized that Turkey will always stand by Syria and expressed Turkey's readiness to provide all necessary support to the Damascus government. The meeting also discussed aspects related to the integration of PKK/YPG terrorist organization members into the new Syria, similar to other groups, after they lay down their weapons, border security and customs crossings, and the handover of prisons and camps where ISIS members are being held to the Syrian gove rnment. In the context of regional developments, the attendees discussed Israeli attacks on Syria and air violations, the lifting of all sanctions imposed on Syria, the fight against ISIS, and the voluntary and safe return of Syrian refugees to their country.
