Sharm el-sheikh: Turkish Intelligence Chief Ibrahim Kalin will head to the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh tomorrow, Wednesday, to participate in ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Turkish security sources stated that ensuring a ceasefire in Gaza, implementing a prisoner exchange, and delivering humanitarian aid will top Kalin’s agenda. They added that Kalin held bilateral contacts with officials from the United States, Egypt, Qatar, and Hamas ahead of the negotiations he will hold tomorrow in Sharm el-Sheikh.

On the 29th of last month, US President Donald Trump announced a 20-point plan, including the release of Israeli prisoners in Gaza, a ceasefire, and the disarmament of Hamas. On Monday, indirect sessions began between delegations from Israel and Hamas in the Egyptian city of Sharm el-Sheikh, to discuss preparing the ground conditions and establishing a mechanism for a prisoner exchange in accordance with the Trump plan.
