Baghdad: The Turkish Interior Ministry has announced the arrest of 119 individuals suspected of being members of the ISIS terrorist organization. These arrests were the result of coordinated security operations targeting the group in 30 provinces.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry detailed that the operations were carried out in collaboration with the Counter-Terrorism Department of the Gendarmerie General Command and the public prosecutor’s offices. The arrests were part of a broader effort to dismantle ISIS networks within the country.

The Ministry’s statement on its “InSocial” social media account revealed that some suspects were involved in promoting the organization through their social media platforms. Others were found to be financing its activities, either through personal connections or under the guise of relief organizations.

The Ministry also mentioned that public prosecutor’s offices have initiated investigations against the suspects. The statement underscored the ongoing commitment of security forces to counter ISIS activities and its financial structures within Turkey.
