Baghdad: Director General of the Horticulture Department, Hadi Hashim Al-Yasiri, engaged in discussions with a delegation from the Turkish Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and a representative from the Turkish Embassy in Iraq regarding the implementation of a previously signed working paper between the two nations.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Al-Yasiri emphasized the Iraqi government’s commitment to advancing the agricultural sector, highlighting the importance of scientific and technical collaboration with Turkey. He also underscored the government’s focus on enhancing the role of the private sector and encouraging both domestic and foreign investment in agriculture.

The Turkish delegation conveyed their readiness to collaborate with the Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture, offering full support and modern technologies. They also discussed plans to introduce new varieties of fruits, olives, and ornamental plants that can thrive in Iraq’s climate.
