Ankara: The Turkish Ministry of Defense has confirmed that the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) will be integrated into the Syrian army by the end of this year. This development marks a significant shift in the relationship between the Syrian government and the SDF, a group previously labeled as a terrorist organization by Turkey.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, sources within the Turkish Ministry of Defense revealed that this integration is part of an agreement reached between the Syrian government and the SDF on March 10. The agreement stipulates the full integration of the SDF into the Syrian army by the year’s end.
The Turkish Ministry of Defense stated that they are closely monitoring the progress of this integration process. They emphasized Turkey’s commitment to supporting Syria’s political unity and territorial integrity. Additionally, Turkey will continue to provide training, advisory, and technical support to the Syrian administration to strengthen its ability to combat armed organizations.
