Ankara: There has been no rise in illegal border crossings following the Israel-Iran clashes, the Turkish National Defence Ministry stated on Thursday. The ministry assured the public that the Turkish Armed Forces are taking all necessary security measures to prevent potential migration movements, as highlighted by ministry spokesperson Zeki Akturk.

According to TRTworld.com, Akturk, speaking at a briefing in Ankara, reported that five PKK terrorists have surrendered in the past week after fleeing their hideouts in northern Iraq and Syria. Trkiye’s efforts to combat the PKK, a terrorist organization responsible for tens of thousands of deaths over nearly four decades, have seen increasing success as more members leave the group.

Amidst heightened tensions over Iran’s nuclear program, Akturk condemned Israel’s recent attacks on Iran, labeling them unlawful and destabilizing to regional peace. He criticized Israel’s actions in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, calling for an immediate end to its aggressive policies that threaten regional stability.

The Turkish National Defence Ministry sources refuted claims that Israeli jets violated Turkish airspace during the airstrikes on Iran. They confirmed that Turkish aircraft were on patrol to monitor and protect the nation’s airspace from any potential violations.

Efforts to bolster Trkiye’s air and missile defense systems are ongoing, with domestic and advanced technologies ensuring readiness against threats. The ministry emphasized that there is no evidence of mass migration into Trkiye, dismissing such reports as disinformation.
