Turkish MoD Announces the Killing of One of Its Officers in a Clash With Kurdish Militants in Northern Iraq

Istanbul The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced the killing of one of its officers in a clash with armed elements of the “PKK” as part of the ongoing claw-lock operations in northern Iraq.

The Turkish Defense stated in a statement today that First Lieutenant Sarkan Arkosh was killed in a clash with militants from the Workers’ Party in northern Iraq.

It is noteworthy that the Turkish Defense had announced earlier the killing of five officers and 31 soldiers in its operations against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) militants in northern Iraq, bringing the Turkish Defense officially announced the losses of the Turkish army in the operations of what it called “claw lock” killing of six officers and 31 soldiers and wounding 18 others since it began its operations on the eighteenth of last April.
