Baghdad: A Turkish ship was attacked by drones today as it returned from a Russian port in the Black Sea.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Maritime Voice website reported that drones attacked the Volgo-Balt 226, operated by a Turkish company, in the Black Sea, causing significant damage to the bridge and captain’s quarters.

The website detailed that there were 10 Azerbaijani citizens and one Georgian citizen on board the vessel, none of whom were injured. The ship’s captain and crew successfully continued their voyage to a port in Trabzon province, northern Turkey, despite the damage inflicted by the attack.

Earlier this month, the Turkish news agency IHA reported that a Turkish ship carrying fruits and vegetables from Turkey to Russia was attacked by Ukrainian drones in the Black Sea.
