Kirkuk: The head of the Iraqi Turkmen Front, Mohammad Saman Agha, recently met with a high-level delegation from the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) to discuss the current situation in Kirkuk Governorate. The KDP delegation was led by Hiwa Ahmed Mustafa, a Politburo member and Kirkuk file official, and included Mohammed Kamal, head of the KDP’s third branch in Kirkuk, along with several party leaders.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the meeting was attended by Deputy Head of the Turkmen Front, Hisham Birkdar, and Politburo members Mardin K¶k Qaya and Sawsan Jadoo, who is also a member of the Kirkuk Provincial Council. Both parties concentrated on the developments in Kirkuk Province, stressing the need for dialogue and coordination among the province’s components to maintain balance and stability and avert any unilateral decisions.

The discussions highlighted the parties’ rejection of the “Rashid Hotel Government,” asserting that any political project not reflecting the genuine will of Kirkuk’s communities lacks legitimacy and future viability. Both groups emphasized recalibrating political relations in Baghdad and Erbil, advocating for genuine partnership and mutual respect instead of exclusionary policies.

Mohammad Saman Agha reiterated the Iraqi Turkmen Front’s commitment to reshaping its national and political presence with a unified vision. This vision aims for true representation of the Turkmen community in decision-making centers, reflecting the community’s rejection of marginalization and division.
