Twelve Suspects Detained for Illegal Use of State Land in Nineveh

Nineveh: The Federal Integrity Commission announced today the arrest of twelve suspects for trespassing on state-owned property in Nineveh Governorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Commission’s staff at the Nineveh Investigation Directorate identified individuals unlawfully occupying eight state-owned plots of land near the Traffic Directorate in the governorate center. These plots were being used as parking lots, and the suspects were collecting money from citizens without any official authorization.

The Commission highlighted that the arrested individuals exploited these lands for personal gain, undermining public interest. Proper records of the operations, conducted based on a judicial warrant, were prepared. The suspects were then presented to the judge of the investigative court specializing in integrity cases. The judge decided to detain the individuals under the provisions of Resolution No. 154 of 2001.
