Diwaniyah: The Antiquities and Heritage Protection Police Directorate at the Ministry of Interior has announced the discovery of 20 artifacts in Diwaniyah Governorate.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Ministry stated that detachments from the Diwaniyah Antiquities and Heritage Protection Police Department found seven artifacts of various shapes and sizes during their intensified patrols at the archaeological site of the City of Nippur. These artifacts are believed to date back to ancient historical eras.
In a separate discovery, while conducting tours at the archaeological site of Sayyid Muhammad Abu Hatab, authorities found an additional 13 artifacts. These too vary in shapes and sizes and are believed to be from ancient historical periods. A formal seizure report was prepared, and the artifacts were handed over to the Antiquities and Heritage Inspectorate of the governorate in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
