Two Arms Dealers Arrested in Diyala

Diyala: A joint security force arrested two suspects in the illegal arms trade in Diyala Governorate. Brigadier General Haitham Al-Shammari, Director of Media for the Diyala Police, confirmed the arrest to a correspondent for the National Iraqi News Agency (NINA). The operation was carried out by a collaborative team involving the Diyala Police and the Organized Crime Control Directorate, with support from the Intelligence and Anti-Terrorism Directorate.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the arrests took place during a security operation near Baqubah. The operation aligns with ongoing efforts by the police command to target outlaws and reduce the proliferation of unlicensed weapons, thereby enhancing security and stability across the governorate.

Brigadier General Al-Shammari stated that legal actions have been initiated against the accused individuals, who have been referred to competent authorities for further investigation. These actions are being conducted in accordance with established judicial frameworks.
