Umm qasr: The Border Ports Authority announced the seizure of two containers containing hazardous chemicals at the northern Umm Qasr port.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Authority stated in a statement that detachments from the Umm Qasr Northern Port Directorate were able to seize two 40-foot containers at the search and investigation point outside the customs area.

The containers held a hazardous, flammable, and toxic chemical, which was not intended for household use. However, it was declared in the completed customs transaction as household cleaning materials. The discovery prompted immediate action from the authorities.

A formal seizure report was prepared, and the seized containers and materials were referred to the northern Umm Qasr Customs Police Station. The materials are to be presented to the competent investigating judge to take appropriate legal action.
