Baghdad: British police announced the arrest of two men following a series of stabbings on a train near Cambridge in eastern England.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the incident was described by Prime Minister Keir Starmer as “horrific.”

British Transport Police stated on the X platform that officers were dispatched in response to a report of stabbings on a train bound for Huntingdon. Several passengers were injured in the attack. Cambridgeshire Police clarified that the incident occurred at 7:39 PM local time, prompting the deployment of an armed police unit to Huntingdon station, located about 120 kilometers north of London.

The train was halted, and two men were apprehended, while the injured were transported to a hospital for treatment. British Transport Police reported on the X platform that 10 individuals were hospitalized due to the stabbings, with nine suffering from “life-threatening” injuries.

Police investigations into the incident are ongoing, with no motives or connections to criminal or terrorist activities yet disclosed.
