Diwaniyah: A security source in Diwaniyah Governorate confirmed that among the victims of the Diwaniyah-Afak road accident were the two sons of Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee Chairman Karim Aliwi, and one of their guards was injured.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the cause of the accident was the explosion of one of the vehicle's tires due to the high speed that collided with a coaster vehicle, resulting in the injury of 13 pilgrims and the death of three others. The bodies were transferred to the forensic medicine department, and the injured were transferred to hospitals for treatment.
