Mosul: A source in the Nineveh Police announced today, Tuesday, that two suicides by self-immolation were recorded within the past 24 hours.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the first case involved a woman who set herself on fire in her home northwest of Mosul. Despite attempts to save her, she succumbed to severe burns.

The source further reported that the second incident involved a man in his forties who also set himself on fire north of Mosul. Security forces have opened an investigation to determine the motives behind both incidents. The bodies have been transferred to the Forensic Medicine Department to complete legal procedures.
