Kyiv: The Ukrainian army unveiled considerable losses sustained by Russian forces since the conflict began on Ukrainian soil.
According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement from the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine indicated that Russian military casualties have reached approximately 944,270 personnel, with 1,210 killed or wounded in just the past 24 hours. The Ukrainian military also reported significant destruction of Russian military equipment throughout the conflict. This includes 10,691 tanks, 22,307 armored combat vehicles, 26,774 artillery systems, and 1,368 multiple launch rocket systems. Additionally, Ukrainian forces have eliminated 1,141 air defense systems, 370 warplanes, 335 helicopters, and 33,526 drones.
The statement further detailed the destruction of 3,148 cruise missiles, 28 warships, and one submarine by the Ukrainian army. Moreover, 45,621 vehicles and fuel tanks, along with 3,860 pieces of special equipment, have been destroyed.
In a separate announcement, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported that its air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 11 Ukrainian drones across various Russian regions overnight. This included three drones in Tula Province, two in Belgorod Province, with additional drones intercepted in Kursk, Bryansk, Kaluga, and Oryol provinces.
Russia recommenced its military operations in Ukraine last Monday, following the conclusion of the Easter ceasefire declared by President Vladimir Putin. Additionally, the British government disclosed that a meeting scheduled for Wednesday in London, intended for foreign ministers from several countries to discuss peace in Ukraine, has been postponed.
