Baghdad: The Ukrainian Embassy in Iraq has firmly denied any involvement in training militants or manufacturing drones for unlawful activities on Iraqi soil.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the embassy issued a statement asserting that Ukraine has neither engaged in nor will engage in activities related to training militants or producing drones for illicit purposes outside its borders. The embassy dismissed such claims as “baseless misleading information” intended to tarnish Ukraine’s reputation and its leadership.

The embassy urged media outlets to rely on official and credible sources when disseminating news and to avoid propagating rumors or unverified reports.

This statement comes in response to a recent report by the Kurdish Security Service (Asayish), which published alleged confessions from a group linked to “Lahur Sheikh Jangi.” The group is accused of attempting to assassinate Pavel Talabani and claimed to have received training in Ukraine through “special approvals” for manufacturing suicide drones intended for the assassination.
