Umm Qasr Base Command Conducts Joint Exercise with French Navy


Umm Qasr: Umm Qasr Naval Base Command carried out a joint naval exercise with the French Navy.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the Ministry of Defense highlighted the exercise as part of the directives from the Commander of the Naval Force, Lieutenant General Mazen Abdul Wahid Kabyan. The exercise was closely followed by the Commander of Umm Qasr Naval Base and aimed to enhance military cooperation between Iraq and France. The joint exercise took place in the Iraqi Naval Operations Area Sector.

The Ministry’s statement detailed the participation from both sides, noting that the Iraqi side was represented by the patrol boat (P-310) from the Second Patrol Boat Battalion of the First Naval Brigade. The French side participated with the ship (SEINE).

The statement concluded with remarks from the commander of the French ship, who commended the readiness and expertise of the Iraqi Naval Force Command. He acknowledged the individual skills of the Iraqi forces in safeguarding Iraq’s territ
orial waters.
