Sana’a: The UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, affirmed that he is following with great concern the latest developments in Yemen, noting that “Yemen cannot become an arena for a wider geopolitical conflict.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, in a statement, Grundberg said that he continues to call on all parties to use available diplomatic channels to de-escalate the situation. He also expressed his deep concern over the civilian deaths and injuries resulting from recent Israeli attacks.

The UN envoy called on all parties concerned to protect civilians and civilian infrastructure, in accordance with their obligations under international law.
