Gaza: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) described the Gaza Strip as “the hungriest place on earth,” warning that time is running out and “lives are being lost every hour.”

According to National Iraqi News Agency, UN News quoted OCHA spokesperson Jens Laerke as saying that the international organization has nearly 180,000 pallets of food and other life-saving aid ready to enter Gaza.

He added, “We can bring in aid immediately, on a large scale, for as long as necessary,” stressing that “the United Nations has everything it needs inside Gaza to deliver aid to civilians safely.”

Israel resumed its attacks on the Gaza Strip in mid-March after a six-week truce and intensified its military operations on May 17, stating that the goal is to eliminate Hamas and free the hostages still being held.
