Geneva: Eight UN experts have formally requested that the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and the Union of European Association Football (UEFA) exclude Israeli national teams and clubs from all international competitions. According to National Iraqi News Agency, the experts based their request on what they described as "the ongoing genocide in the Palestinian territories." It was previously reported that UEFA was already considering a decision to exclude Israel from all its tournaments. It is noteworthy that the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry, which monitors events in the occupied Palestinian territories, considered that Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip amount to the crime of "genocide," stressing that Israel "destroyed the reproductive capacity of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as a group."
