Al-kut: The United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) has expressed deep sorrow over the humanitarian tragedy in the city of Al-Kut, where a devastating fire claimed the lives of numerous innocent victims and left many others injured.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General for Iraq and Head of UNAMI, Ambassador Mohammed El Hassan, offered condolences to the affected families. He stated, "We extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathy to the families of the victims in Wasit Governorate during this time of immense grief. We pray for mercy upon the deceased, a swift recovery for the injured, and patience and solace for their loved ones."

El Hassan affirmed the mission's readiness to provide all possible humanitarian support to help mitigate the impact of this tragic disaster. He also emphasized that the protection of human life must remain a top priority under all circumstances.
