UNAMI Condemns Attack on IDP Camp in Dohuk

Dohuk: The United Nations Mission in Iraq expressed its strong condemnation of the explosion that targeted a camp for displaced persons in Dohuk Governorate this morning.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the United Nations in Iraq issued a statement urging the protection of, and refraining from targeting, IDP camps, including the Darkar camp for displaced Yazidis. The statement emphasized the need for the safety and security of these vulnerable populations.

The mission further called on the relevant authorities in Iraq to open an investigation into the incident. It stressed the importance of taking necessary and urgent measures to prevent the recurrence of such attacks. The statement also highlighted the need for providing services to repair the damage caused and holding those responsible accountable, as the attack contravenes international law and human rights.
