Baghdad: The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Multilateral Affairs and Legal Affairs, Ambassador Shorsh Khaled Saeed, has emphasized Iraq’s commitment to engaging with its regional and international surroundings. This strategic openness aims to reinforce the foundations of security and peace.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Undersecretary held a meeting at the Ministry’s headquarters with the Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Iraq, Ruben Soghoyan. During this meeting, the strong relations between Iraq and Armenia were highlighted, with both parties expressing a shared desire to further develop these ties to benefit both nations.

Ambassador Saeed reiterated Iraq’s strategy of openness and its efforts to leverage this approach to promote security and peace. He emphasized the importance of dialogue and political and diplomatic methods in resolving crises.

The Armenian Ambassador, Ruben Soghoyan, voiced his country’s appreciation for Iraq’s balanced stance on various issues. He underscored the significance of political and diplomatic solutions in addressing regional tensions to ensure security and stability. Furthermore, he expressed Armenia’s eagerness to deepen its relationship with Iraq across multiple sectors.

The meeting also included discussions on regional and international developments that are of mutual interest to both countries.
