Baghdad: The Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Iraq, Titon Mitra, praised the pivotal role played by the Supreme Judicial Council in promoting stability in the country.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, a statement by the United Nations Mission in Iraq highlighted that Mitra met with the Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan. They discussed the importance of fruitful cooperation between the two sides in implementing several development initiatives.

The discussions between Mitra and Judge Zaidan covered prominent areas of cooperation, focusing on supporting efforts to combat money laundering and eradicate corruption, as well as developing the fields of arbitration and mediation.

Judge Faiq Zaidan expressed appreciation for the continued support provided by UNDP to various judicial institutions. Both parties expressed a desire to continue this cooperation, particularly in areas such as digital transformation and automation.
