Gaza: The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) revealed that the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has resulted in the death and injury of more than 50,000 Palestinian children since October 7, 2023.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the organization’s Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, Edouard Beigbeder, stated in a press release that “since the ceasefire ended on March 18, 1,309 children have been killed and 3,738 others injured,” emphasizing that “the total number of children killed or injured in the Gaza Strip since October 7, 2023 has reached more than 50,000 children.”

The director highlighted the tragic events by mentioning, “We saw videos last Friday of the burned and dismembered bodies of children from one family being pulled from the rubble of their home in Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.” He posed a critical question, “How many more girls and boys must be killed? What level of horror must be broadcast live before the international community fully intervenes, uses its influence, and takes bold and decisive action to force an end to this merciless killing of children?”

The report further details that over a period of nearly 20 months, the occupation has targeted numerous shelters, including schools, universities, hospital courtyards, and areas designated as safe by the Israeli occupation army, leading to 54,084 deaths and 123,308 injuries.
