United nations: The Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Titon Mitra, stated that the UNDP is actively collaborating with the Iraqi government on multiple fronts, including economic diversification and anti-corruption measures.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Mitra confirmed that the UNDP’s initiatives align with the priorities of Iraq’s new government, focusing on critical areas such as climate, the environment, and tackling climate change. Mitra emphasized the UNDP’s cooperation with the Iraqi Integrity Commission to bolster efforts in combating corruption.

Mitra highlighted ongoing projects aimed at diversifying Iraq’s economy to lessen its dependence on oil revenues. He noted that there are concerted efforts with the government to address this economic reliance. Additionally, Mitra mentioned that addressing the issue of internally displaced persons (IDPs) is essential for Iraq’s progress toward development, and the UNDP is actively working with the Iraqi government to find solutions.
