US Ambassador to the Minister of Electricity: We keep pace with the development of the sector in Iraq with care

Baghdad Minister of Electricity, Engineer Adel Karim, received the US Ambassador to Iraq, Alina Romanowski.

The Ministry of Electricity said in a statement received by / NINA / that the Ministry went in several directions with the Gulf, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Kingdom of Jordan, and Turkey, in this regard, noting that its Minister reviewed the ministry’s efforts to diversify energy sources and contract with international companies to establish projects for solar power plants, which the Ministry was keen to distribute it in most of the governorates of Iraq.

The Minister indicated, according to the statement, that the great renaissance that we worked on to introduce a large number of projects, stations and transmission lines, which had been out of order for a long time, and which contributed to a clear stability of the national system, stressing that the Ministry pays great attention to wind projects for energy production, as well as electricity generation from recycling Waste in coordination with the secretariat, municipality and local government.

He explained, that the plan is to install the combined cycle units and establish new steam stations that will be a backup load center for the system.

For her part, Romanowsky confirmed that she is keeping pace with the development of the electricity sector in Iraq, and she urges sober companies to work in Iraq, as it is a good and suitable environment for work, especially the electricity sector.
