**US Ambassador Urges Quick Government Formation in Kurdistan Following Elections**

Baghdad: US Ambassador to Iraq Alina Romanowski has urged political parties in Kurdistan to facilitate a swift and peaceful transition of power following the recent regional parliament elections. According to National Iraqi News Agency, Romanowski commended the citizens and political forces of the Kurdistan Region on the successful conduct of the elections. In a statement released today, she highlighted the monitoring efforts by US mission employees across various polling stations on October 18 and 20. Romanowski praised the Kurdistan Region's commitment to democracy, despite challenges faced during the electoral process, particularly with fingerprint verification, which she noted should be resolved before Iraq's parliamentary elections in 2025. Further, Romanowski emphasized the importance of forming a new government promptly to bolster Kurdistan's democratic institutions, advance human rights, support economic development, and enhance the region's role within a secure, stable, and sovereign Iraq. She call ed on all political parties and security forces to respect the media and civil society's crucial role in the democratic process, urging a collective effort to ensure a peaceful transfer of power.
