Baghdad: The US Central Command has announced that it has rerouted 75 commercial vessels since the reimplementation of sanctions against Iran. This strategic move is part of the United States’ efforts to enforce the embargo on Iran, demonstrating a significant naval presence in the region.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the US Central Command released a statement on Thursday detailing the measures taken to ensure compliance with the sanctions. The statement highlighted the deployment of US Navy E/A-18G electronic warfare aircraft patrolling the Middle Eastern airspace, underscoring the seriousness with which the United States is approaching the enforcement of these sanctions.

The statement further elaborated that, as of August 27, US Central Command forces have not only altered the courses of 75 commercial vessels but have also disabled three vessels and boarded two others. These actions are part of a broader strategy to ensure that all maritime activities in the region adhere to the sanctions imposed on Iran.
