Washington: The US Congress has disclosed that the initial five months of the ongoing conflict with Iran have incurred a staggering cost of $38 billion. This revelation underscores the financial burden of the military engagement on American resources.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) issued a press release detailing the fiscal impact of the war. The CBO reported, “The first five months of the war in Iran cost the Department of Defense $38 billion,” and highlighted that ongoing expenses are expected to range between $2 billion and $3 billion monthly.

The CBO further elaborated on the ramifications of the conflict, noting that it has significantly depleted US weapons stockpiles, including vital interceptor missiles. This depletion poses concerns over the sustainability of such an expenditure and its implications for national defense readiness.
