US Embassy Expresses Gratitude to al-Sudani for Supporting Elizabeth Tsurkov’s Release


Baghdad: The US Embassy in Baghdad has extended its gratitude to Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani for his role in facilitating the release of Elizabeth Tsurkov.



According to National Iraqi News Agency, the Embassy announced on its website that Elizabeth Tsurkov, a Princeton University student, has been freed and is set to be reunited with her family. This development follows closely on the heels of an executive order signed by President Trump aimed at bolstering efforts against hostage diplomacy. The Embassy emphasized the significance of Prime Minister al-Sudani’s support in achieving Tsurkov’s release, describing it as a demonstration of peace through strength.



Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani confirmed the release of the Russian citizen, Elizabeth Tsurkov, in an announcement made the previous evening.
