Baghdad:The United States has expressed its gratitude to the Iraqi government for its involvement in transferring military personnel from Syria to Iraq, while reiterating its commitment to supporting Iraq.

According to National Iraqi News Agency, Minister of Justice Khalid Shwani met in Baghdad with Stephen Fagin and Daisy Bledsoe-Herring from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

The meeting addressed the important issue of individuals transferred from Syria to Iraq and the mechanisms for handling the matter in accordance with established legal frameworks. Discussions also covered ways to enhance cooperation and coordination in legal and judicial fields.

US representatives thanked the Minister of Justice for the Ministry’s role in the transfer process and affirmed their commitment, in coordination with their partners, to providing the necessary support to Iraq regarding this matter.
